Want Your Company to Grow? Give More!

Give More for Business Success

Many small companies believe that they can’t afford to spend too much because their focus should be staying out of debt and boosting profit. I think this is the wrong mentality. If companies want to grow, they need to start giving more.

More than Money

When I say “give more,” I mean you can give more than just money to your employees to spur higher levels of job satisfaction. You can provide benefits, bonuses, education, incentives, responsibility, or shared ownership, or anything that your employees value that is not related to their salary.

People are motivated by money only up to a certain point. I realized this after my false starts in life. We desire intangible things money can’t provide, like feeling valued, appreciated, and recognized. This is why companies should give more.

I’ve had the most exceptional people in the industry join my team. They entered not just for the premium wages and great benefits, but because we provide them with a great work environment, the inspiration to be better, education to become more confident and successful, and great opportunities for growth.

Bring Value

If you want the best people in the business working for you, make sure you can offer them something that will set you apart from your competitors. They need to see that working with you is their best option for business and personal reasons. By getting to know your employees, you will know how to give them something that brings them value and motivates them beyond money.

You can implement one, two, or more non-monetary benefits to an employee’s package that add tremendous value, for example:

• Flexible schedules.

• Paid time off for personal or family reasons.

• Cross-training.

• Online courses.

• Workplace wellness programs.

• Motivational seminars.

• Structured bonus programs.

• Shares in the company.

Giving back to the community is beneficial for small companies. The research and consulting firm, “Great Place to Work,” conducted a study of several hundred companies and more than 380,000 employees to compile its 2018 “Best Workplaces for Giving Back” list. The research found companies that give back to the community have higher employee retention, brand ambassadorship, and employee enthusiasm than those which don’t give back.

Giving is Great for Business

Employees at organizations that give back are thirteen times more likely to look forward to coming to work. Even if I did not sincerely believe in the law of vibrational giving and had not reaped the rewards it brought, I would still instill a culture of giving in my companies, since it has been proven to increase performance. Giving is, therefore, good business.

Always find a reason to give to others, to strengthen others. In return, you’ll succeed in everything you’re trying to achieve. Be fair in all your doings and dealings, and the universe will enable your success and happiness.
