Famous Coffee: From Vision to Reality

A Cup of Famous Coffee
Famous Coffee Began with Visualization

In the real estate industry, when clients come to meet with developers, coffee and light refreshments are offered. After all, we want our clients focused, paying attention to our presentations, and not distracted by hunger and thirst.

One day, someone noticed that our competitors always served their customers mediocre takeout coffee or cheap instant coffee that you can buy at convenience stores. This observation inspired an idea in me.

I immediately visualized how much better the experience would be if we had a fantastic coffee shop in our building that always served fresh, delicious coffee and tasty treats that our clients could enjoy.

Realizing the Dream

The key was taking immediate action. We got to work and created the first coffee shop in a section of one of our development offices. We established our brand and even bought fresh coffee beans from a Thai plantation famous for its quality and taste. When clients enter the building, the coffee shop is the first thing they see, smell, and taste.

Soon enough, clients started to come back to our building just for a cup of coffee, pastry, or a snack. Then, we began to get great reviews. Eventually, we expanded locally and now have three successful branches.

The big idea to create a coffee shop in our headquarters was to give our clients that something special when they came for meetings. However, the idea grew bigger and bigger and evolved into a franchise. I could have stopped at the one shop, but I kept thinking about how I could make it even better.

Initially, I called the coffee shops “Green Mountain” in reference to the green region in Thailand that supplied the beans. I decided to rename the coffee shop, because, in one of my thinking sessions, it occurred to me that the right name would evoke the feeling that I wanted people to experience.

Clients Love “Getting Famous” with Us

I decided to rename the coffee shops “Famous.” Famous is a pretty simple word that people can easily remember, and I thought customers would enjoy saying, “Let’s meet at Famous,” or “I’m at Famous.” There is a good feeling associated with the word. When asked, “What are you getting to drink today?” it’s hard not to smile when you say, “I’m going to get Famous.” It’s a single word with positive connotations, and it sounds special, like a place you’d go to meet celebrities.

You may just be going for a cup of coffee, but you’ll leave feeling great because of the experience. When the name Famous came to mind, I instantly knew that it was going to turn out great. Now all I hear is how much clients enjoy getting Famous.
