CEO of Blue Horizon Developments, Andres Pira embraces the opportunity to give back and provide some inspiration and motivation for those just starting out. In this video, he shares some advice with Bangkok School of Management students in this keynote speech.
Andres shares the story of how he began as a telemarketing officer in Sweden, a position in which he worked for 2 years while asking himself whether it was really what he desired in life. He talks about how he dropped out of school at the age of 14 and how the death of his grandfather when he was 18 caused him to reach a turning point and he took a one-way trip to Thailand.
His first job in Thailand made him feel happy until he fell into the party scene and was evicted from his room for not paying the rent. Homeless on the beach, Andres asked a friend for help. When the friend sent him a book, “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, he angrily read it, thinking he would disprove its theories. What he learned in this book changed his life forever.
Andres talks about the importance of hard work and goal setting for success and explains to the students how balance is everything in life and that money doesn’t buy happiness.
